Why Xenia

When trying to decide a name for my doula practice I wanted something that represented the kind of doula I wanted to be. During my research I came across the Greek word Xenia meaning “ritualized friendship”. When people have asked me what a doula does I usually end my speech with “I’m basically a really informed & supportive friend”. Therefore Xenia was born. The word also sounds similar to zinnia. Hence the Zinnia flowers. Zinnias are known to represent endurance through the hard times. What better flower to represent labor?
